Liverpool Transfer Rumour Special Summer 2017
Continuing from our previous transfer rumour specials, this time we are taking a look at the potential signings of Premier League Liverpool.
Filling the final spot of the top 4 buzz winning clubs, the Reds have built up a respectable 38 buzz wins in total, 6 of which have been in the last 100 days. Along with that, 13 different players from Anfield have so far won the buzz.
With the Merseyside club set to qualify for the Champions League they will surely need to add both depth and quality to compete on all fronts and progress from this season. There has been a distinct lack of pace in the Liverpool attack when Sadio Mane hasn’t featured so this could be an asset Klopp will look to prioritise.
Phillipe Coutinho has long been linked to Barcelona and should he leave there would be no surprise if Liverpool spent big on a marquee signing this summer. Add in the deadwood to shift, such as full back Alberto Moreno and there will be plenty of positions up for replacement throughout the transfer window.
So who do we think is most likely to move to Anfield? And how much profit do we think can be made on Football Index from the transfer rumour merry go round?
Perhaps the most talked about incoming transfer to Liverpool so far this summer is Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. The Ox is odds on with most bookmakers to swap North London for Liverpool in search of a regular starting spot in his favoured position.
It is common knowledge that Klopp likes his teams to press from the front and Oxlade Chamberlain would fit nicely into his system with his high energy game. Currently priced around the £1.55 mark on the index, we have seen Ox reach levels of £1.70 as recently as last month on the back of these rumours.
Should the rumours persist there is no reason he won’t hit similar levels to Ross Barkley with a top end price of around £2.10. He would then likely settle back down to around his current price should the move go through. The same would be likely if he extends his stay at the emirates for another season.
Second up we will have a look at a potential double deal! Liverpool have in recent weeks been associated with raiding German surprise package RB Leipzig for midfielder Naby Keita and forward Timo Werner.
We recently suggested both Keita and Werner as a exciting potential football index promotions in a previous video. With both players currently sitting in the squad list at 42nd and 21st respectively there is potentially a huge margin available in the pair should they become available on a promotion day.
Liverpool need to add some pace and dynamism to their attack to complement their current crop and a double deal for this pair would show Jurgen Klopp means business next season.
In terms of their Index price both players would enter at just 25p! As we all know the likelihood of picking either up at this price is minute but with attainable promotion day target prices of £1.20 plus there is much money to be made just through their promotion.
Should either player move to Liverpool, both would easily flirt with the £2 mark and higher.
A more extravagant rumour that has appeared in recent weeks involves a midfielder who has already shone at two Premier League giants during his glittering career, Cesc Fabregas.
Although this link would appear on the outset to have little substance, long time users of the index will know how volatile the market can be with regards to transfer rumours – especially big ones like this!
Fabregas has been used sparingly by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte this season, and could look to move on in order to get regular starts. Especially as during his sporadic appearances this year he's shown he still most definitely has what it takes to operate at the highest level.
He currently sits at the £1.10 mark on the index. As a player of Fabregas' popularity and standing in the game, we think he would comfortably hit £2 should the rumours grow.
With the added bonus of vague links to Old Trafford as well, Fabregas could prove to be worth the punt at some point during the summer chaos.
Defence is an area that will no doubt be given a fair amount of attention from Jurgen Klopp this summer. Strong links to both Virgil Van Dijk and Ryan Sessegnon could come to fruition. However they are both already, in our view, somewhat overpriced with regards to the Football index at around £1.83 and £1.38 respectively.
Looking at the price of other defenders who are settled at their current clubs, there is a distinct possibility many traders may get stung buying in at their current prices. No doubt however, there will be a chance to profit from a quick flip so if you do decide to take a punt on either of this pair when links are at their peak. Just make sure to be aware of completion or rejection of any deal as their price is highly likely to plummet as a result.
So there we go a look at a few potential Liverpool transfers that are well worth keeping an eye on for various reasons.
